Lars joined UASC in 2006 as Vice President Agency Management and was in charge of setting up UASC’s joint venture agency structure in Asia, among others, splitting his time between Asia and Dubai. From 2009-2012, he was based in Asia overseeing UASC’s Asia-wide trade and agency activities spanning from Japan over China to Australia as Vice President of the Asia Region. In 2012, he was named UASC’s Chief Trade Officer. He also serves as Chairman of UASC’s country organizations in Turkey and Benelux.

Lars has been instrumental in realizing UASC’s ambitious growth plans, which are driven by a commitment to comprehensive and reliable services for customers while also improving efficiencies. He has played a central role in UASC’s network expansion, enabling cooperations with leading liner shipping companies including CMA CGM and China Shipping Container Lines (the “Ocean Three” alliance), and Hamburg Süd.

Through these partnerships and its own investment in some of the largest and most eco-efficient container vessels ever built, UASC is moving purposefully up the rankings and cementing its position as an emerging global carrier.

Lars brought to UASC a wealth of in-depth knowledge of the shipping industry, having spent over 20 years with the A.P. Moller Maersk Group in various management positions. This included a period as Country Manager, as well as Vice President with a focus on developing Maersk Line’s Global Sales Management structure. He also served as a Management Consultant and as Transport Director with IKEA on its Global Transportation Management Team. He holds an MBA from the University of Hull, UK.
