Dr. Nabeel Al- Amudi was appointed Chairman of UASC’s board of directors at its July 2nd, 2015 meeting, with the responsibility of spearheading the Company’s strategic efforts and driving its global expansion and ambitious growth plans to cement UASC’s positions as the market leader in the Middle East and as an emerging global carrier.
Dr. Al-Amudi was appointed President of the Saudi Ports Authority in late January 2015. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Al-Amudi served in several managerial and leadership positions at Saudi Aramco and its various subsidiaries. His most recent position, prior to leading the Saudi Port Authority, was the president of Aramco Services Company which is based in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Al-Amudi has a proven track record in leading complex and large organizations and has an in-depth knowledge in management planning and negotiations. During his tenure at Saudi Aramco, Dr. Al-Amudi was involved in the development, negotiation and implementation of a number of pioneering Saudi Aramco joint ventures and financings, including the Rabigh Development Project (Petro Rabigh) and the Saudi Aramco Total Refinery Project (SATORP) when he worked in Saudi Aramco's Legal Department between 2002 and late 2009. He then led Saudi Aramco's Long Range Planning Department and spearheaded a team that launched Saudi Aramco's ' Accelerated Transformation Program' with the aim of positioning the company to be the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals company by the year 2020.
Dr. Al-Amudi received a Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from Harvard Law School in 2001, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in 1995. He also attended the Stanford Executive Program during the summer of 2009. Dr. Al-Amudi was recognized as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014.
